Information for Agents and Publishers
Please email matt.terrell@gmail.com for more information about the cookbook.
I am currently looking for an agent or publisher who can take Magnolia Bayou to the next level. Since launching this project I have sold hundreds of copies of this hand-made cookbook, each one of them a unique piece of art. Along the way I have garnered several media hits, done live cooking demos, had an author’s presentation at Decatur Book Festival (the nation’s largest book festival and literary event), and did a reading and demo at The Bascom Arts Center (Highlands, NC). The Magnolia Bayou Cookbook is something that resonates with many people, and is something that has not ever been produced in mainstream cookbooks. This cookbook tells a complete story of a fictional community, and each copy is personalized with stuffed-in items that make it seem as if you are reading a character’s personal book.
Goals for the next level of The Magnolia Bayou Cookbook:
Reach a national-level audience while still delivering a unique literary and artistic experience.
Grow the brand into other medias which would play up the “fictional cookbook” concept. This might include online videos made by characters from the cookbook, podcast interviews, or even a stage play.
Expand The Magnolia Bayou brand to encompass other lifestyle and wellness avenues. This could include product recommendations
